Job Description About the Role
You will be a senior engineer on the x360Sync team at ConnectWise, owning development of the macOS agent — a native desktop application at the heart of the x360Sync backup and file sync product. The application is primarily written in C++, with Swift and Objective-C used for macOS-native components. You will be stepping into a mature codebase with real ownership and scope from day one.

Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing technical recommendations grounded in macOS platform best practices
Write clean, well-tested code and take part in code reviews — both giving and receiving constructive feedback
Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features on schedule without cutting corners on quality
Contribute to improving engineering standards, internal tooling, and development processes
Help scope and break down complex problems into well-defined tasks for yourself and the broader team
Document technical decisions, system behavior, and processes clearly for teammates and future contributors
Mandatory skills
C++, Linux, Linux System Programming, Multithreading, IPC OR XPC, Sockets OR "Socket Programming, macOS, Objective-C OR "Objective-C++, Endpoint Security.

Experience debugging complex, multi-threaded, or multi-process applications
Experience with software development workflows, including version control (Git), code review, and CI/CD pipelines
Non-Technical
Strong written and verbal English communication skills — you'll work with distributed teams and will need to articulate technical ideas clearly
Ability to work independently and manage your own priorities in a remote or hybrid environment
Comfortable working in an established codebase with existing design decisions you didn't author
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
Experience with file sync, backup, or storage-related products
Familiarity with Windows desktop development (the x360Sync agent also has a Windows counterpart)
Exposure to cross-platform C++ codebases targeting both macOS and Windows
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment
Background in developer tooling, performance profiling, or low-level system programming on macOS

Why Join the x360Sync Team
The x360Sync team works on software that businesses genuinely depend on — keeping their files safe and in sync. You won't be building another internal dashboard; your work ships to real customers and has a clear, direct impact. The team values technical rigor, honest communication, and getting things done without unnecessary ceremony. If you enjoy owning hard problems in a native desktop environment and want your expertise in C++ and macOS to be the main event rather than a footnote, this is the role for you.
The Senior Software Engineer for x360Sync is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the macOS desktop agent application that keeps critical business data in sync for thousands of customers. Working in C++, Swift, and Objective-C, you will collaborate closely with a cross-functional engineering team to deliver reliable, high-quality software — from feature development through to production support. This role requires strong technical depth, clear communication, and a genuine care for the end-user experience.
