Privacy Policy

When you fill in a form or create an account. Name, email address, phone number, and — depending on the form — your primary technology stack, LinkedIn URL, links to work you have deployed, your company name and role, and anything else you choose to tell us.

When you apply for verification. The work you submit for review (repositories, deployed applications, project descriptions), and the assessment notes our engineer records.

When you use the job board. The roles you apply to through SUNCHAL, when you applied, saved jobs, and any job alerts you set up.

When you use the résumé (ATS) checker. We read the text of the file you upload in order to score it. We do not store your résumé file. It is processed in memory and discarded. We keep only the score, the breakdown, the suggestions, and the technologies detected. For anonymous checks, we also redact the file name, because file names often contain people's names.

When you use the site. Basic, aggregated analytics about which pages are visited. We use Vercel Analytics, which is cookieless and does not build a profile of you or track you across other websites. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels.

When you talk to our assistant. The messages you send to Ritika, our support assistant, and its replies. If you ask to speak to a person, the contact details you give us so we can reply.

When you subscribe. Your email address, the topics you chose (jobs, blog, newsletter), and whether our emails were delivered.

When you pay. Your name, email, phone, the amount, and a payment reference. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details — payments are handled entirely by Razorpay on their own systems.

Cookies. We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and keep the site secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Advertising and affiliate links. SUNCHAL does not currently display third-party advertising and does not earn affiliate commission on anything on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy before any advertising or affiliate code is added, we will tell you which network serves the ads and what it sets on your device, we will ask for your consent before any non-essential advertising cookie is set, and any page containing paid or affiliate links will say so clearly on the page itself. We will never sell your personal data to an advertiser, and we will never use what you tell us during verification, mentoring, or a support conversation to target advertising at you.

• To create and run your account, and to verify who you are.
• To carry out verification and, with your consent, publish your verified profile.
• To match verified candidates with companies that are hiring.
• To record and manage your job applications.
• To provide preparation tracks you have purchased and to process payments.
• To send you service messages (verification results, receipts, account notices) — these are not marketing and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account.
• To send you newsletters or digests, only if you asked for them — you can unsubscribe at any time.
• To keep the platform secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet our legal obligations.
• To understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it.

We process your information on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form, create an account, or subscribe — and, where applicable, for legitimate uses permitted under the DPDP Act (such as complying with the law, or providing a service you specifically requested).

You may withdraw consent at any time (see section 7). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out, and may mean we can no longer provide parts of the service.

We do not sell your personal information. We never have and we will not.

Companies hiring through SUNCHAL — if you are a verified candidate, we share your profile and relevant details with companies for the purpose of hiring you. We only do this with your consent, and we ask companies to treat it confidentially and use it solely for that hiring process.

Service providers who help us run SUNCHAL (Data Processors), each handling only what they need:

Legal disclosure — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a public authority.

Our primary systems store data in secure cloud infrastructure. Some of our service providers process data outside India. Where that happens, we rely on the provider's contractual and technical safeguards, and transfers are made in accordance with the DPDP Act and any restrictions the Government of India notifies.

• Account and profile data — while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• Job applications — visible in your dashboard for 30 days, then archived; retained for a limited period for analytics and dispute handling.
• Support conversations — approximately 90 days after the conversation is closed, then archived or deleted.
• Audit and system logs — approximately 30 days in our live systems, then moved to secure archive storage.
• Payment records — retained permanently, as we are required to keep financial records for tax and accounting purposes. This applies even if you delete your account.
• Résumé files — not retained at all (see section 1).

Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:

• Access — ask what personal information we hold about you.
• Correct — have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected or completed.
• Erase — ask us to delete your personal information, subject to records we are legally required to keep (such as payment records).
• Withdraw consent — at any time, including unsubscribing from emails using the link in every marketing email.
• Nominate — nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf if you die or become incapacitated.
• Grievance redressal — raise a complaint with us (see section 10), and escalate to the Data Protection Board of India if you are not satisfied with our response.

To exercise any of these, email support@sunchal.com. We will respond within a reasonable period and in any case as required by law. We may need to verify your identity first.

We protect your information with access controls at the database level, encrypted connections, restricted staff access, hashed credentials, and audit logging of changes to sensitive records. Payment card details never touch our systems.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that affects your personal data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

SUNCHAL is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy as SUNCHAL grows or the law changes. Material changes will be notified by email or a prominent site notice, and the “Last updated” date will change.
